She was half expecting the town to go up in flames today; after all, the last time when her birthday came along, Shadows invaded and the town was a mess. Worst way to celebrate ever. So other than those who knew her, she wasn't going to make any big announcements today over the scrolls.

Just an ordinary day for once. Unless a Pinkie pops up.

Or maybe get a milkshake at Sugarcube Corner...that sounds pretty good. Maybe they have a cake flavor...

STREAMERS EVERYWHERE!

And a Pinkie Pie and loud music!

It's a happy, happy birthday and I just came here to say

So lets get down and clown around, it's time to start the show!

There's birthday cakes
and presents and pie
Ice cream towers to the sky!
And here there is a streamer here and flowers in your hair

SHE WAS NOT EXPECTING THE STREAMERS AND THE SONG OH DEAR AMATERASU-!

So what was the most logical thing for Yukiko to do in this type of situation? Wait, there was a more important question to be asked-

"How...how did you know it was my birthday today?" sounded more like a tiny squeak but it was kind of hard to be brave after that sudden song.

"Pinkie Sense told me," said Pinkie in all seriousness. "It's totally accurate all the time!"

At least, one pinkie sense enhanced by a supernatural power one didn't understand.

"Pinkie...sense?"

No really, what was that?

"You've never heard of Pinkie Sense? it's only the most powerful thing ever!"

No really, Pinkie that doesn't explain anything.

"It...doesn't exist where I come from. What exactly does it do?"

A logical question yes! It's not going to involve a song again will it?

"It promotes unpredictability! Like an itch you can't predict, but cooler." Explained Pinkie, but not.

"If it promotes that, how do you know what it is and what it is going to do?"

"That sounded better in my head."

"It's god a secret code," Pinkie stage-whispered conspiratorially.

"Let me guess: and you're the only one who knows how to open it?"

Pinkie Sense is kind of a dead giveaway of who could use it.

"That's just ONE of the conditions! You have to be able to hear narrators!"

Hey now.

"It's only true!"

"Narrators? Isn't it like...breaking something?"

Obviously.

"It just goes to show when you're actually paying attention s'all."

Blinking, Yukiko just looked confused until it kind of dawned on her.

"Are you...speaking to it now?"

"What do you thinK~?"

Really Pinkie stop scaring her.

"Okie dokie lokie!" She leaned in and stage whispered, "I'm borrowing this power from Maddie...!"

"I should ask...but I won't."

And now back to the task at hand: a quiet celebration of her birthday because gods please don't make anything crazy or die today. That would be a great present.

"So...does Sugarcube Corner have cake milkshakes?"

"Oh totally! It has cake milkshakes, cake cookies, cake cakes, cake pies, cake donuts, cake coffee...!" The list goes on.

"Well, I was wondering because I wanted to do something small today. The last time my birthday came around that nasty fog showed up."

Milkshake in the cold? Pffft why not?

"Awww, something small? Well I can roll with that! Lets go to Sugarcube Corner and get that milkshake for you then!" Exclaimed Pinkie, waving her legs.
