Ranger Key shenanigans!

What: Marvelous trying to see if ponies have what it takes

Where: Outside the Marvelous farmhouse
Warnings: Cockiness and light trolling

[Marvelous is sitting down outside the newly constructed house, setting up a few things. He's gotten drinks for everypony, just in case someone's tired/thirsty. He's also got the chest set up near the table, open for people to deposit keys inside. There's also a stack of buckles from the Archive dive he and Alastor had earlier.

He's going to be there all weekend, day and night, and has sent out a quick reminder message. So, just stop on by when you're free!]

Pony, dragon, boar. That's the composition of today's party approaching the Marvelous farmhouse. Mako, as always, is wearing her hat and vest, but today, for a change of pace, Etranger is also wearing a hat - a simple thing, apparently made from woven straw.

The Dragonranger Key she is clutching has a matching straw hat.

Yo!

[And Marvelous is up on his feet. The first catch of the day.]

Looks like everyone's in their finest today.

[etranger]

Mako nods in greeting as Etranger toddles over to deposit Jean-Paul into the chest.

"Be good, Jean-Paul! You can't walk the path of the tyrant, 'kay?"

With that said, she tilts her head to one side, her spines swaying slightly as she listens to something before looking over at Mako and smiling.

"Jean-Paul promised to be a good king, Mama!"

"Oh? He's the King, is he?"

[etranger]

Etranger nods earnestly.

"Jean-Paul is a dragon like me! And everyone knows dragons are the strongest!"

Off to the side, the boar is visibly biting back laughter as he very deliberately doesn't look directly at the little dragon.

"Well, I have seen a lot of strong dragons in my time, so I don't doubt it for a second."

[etranger]

Beaming, Etranger walks a little closer to Marvelous and holds out her hands expectantly. Time for the buckle!

[ponymechanic]

[Tails had made sure to train a bit before this fight. Sure he's fought before when the shadows attacked, but he had to make sure he was prepared for this fight.

He has with him the Shinkenger Blue Key.]

[Ah. One he was waiting for. He'll click out the ShinkenRed key, and quickly hoof it before Tails can see it.]

Glad you could make it, kiddo.

[ponymechanic]

[Tails thought he saw Marvelous pull something out, but he didn't see it.]

Well I couldn't exactly miss this.

[He holds up the key.]

I've got the key here as agreed.

[He wasn't sure if Marvelous needed for him to put it in the chest first, or if Marvelous will have him test drive it.]

Good. Shall we get started then? We can put it in the chest afterwards.

[Out'll come the Mobirates, flicked open and ready.]

Sounds fine to me.

[Once Tails is able to get the proper device to work the key, he changes into Shinkenger Blue.

Somehow Tails is able to grip the sword with his mouth despite wearing a helmet, and stands in a fighting position.

Ready for the first strike.]

Ok then. Gokai Change!

[SHINKENGER!]

[And facing Tails now is ShinkenRed. Somewhere in the multiverse there's a harrowing cry of 'MY LORD!!!!!!'...as if he sensed something was up.]

Swords for swords seems fair enough, don't you think?

[foolish_seal]

[Sure enough, Minato shows up shortly after the message had been sent, flying over and announcing his presence with a completely unnecessary flip for a landing.]

'Sup? Hope you're not too tired of fighting already.

[sumofallreds]

Never. Pity I don't have the same team as you,. Then we could have some fun.

[foolish_seal]

We'll just have to make do, then.

[He produces the key in question, as well as his Mobirates.]

Shall we get started?

[sumofallreds]

Sounds good. You go first. I wanna test something out today anyway. And you seem to be competent enough that nothing'll go wrong.

[foolish_seal]

Whatever you say.

[Minato goes to insert the key, but pauses a moment. He's seen sentai before. Both Super Sentai and Pheonix Ranger make a show out of transforming. He doesn't want to get in the way of tradition, so he rears up on his hind legs to strike a pose.]

Gokai change.

[A flip of the key and he inserts it, transforming into MagiBlue. Though it comes with a weapon, he'll instead opt for his more standard dragon fang sword, leaving the MagiStick holstered at his side.]

Whenever you're ready.

On it.

[And out comes the ToQ1go Key. He'll flick it open....and a giant white line separates the two.]

{Transformation in progress. Please stay behind the white line!}

Huh. That's new. *Ahem* Gokai Change!

[TOQGER---TOQGER!]

[Quickly, the new suit will overlay over the Gokai Suit, the helmet coming on after a small train surrounds it. It finishes off into this, shining in a quick burst of red energy.]

[Princess Twilight doesn't appear for several hours, saddlebag slung across her back.]

I hope you don't mind waiting a moment; my partner should be here momentarily.

No worries. Have a drink while we wait.

(And before long, the unicorn shows up.)

Sorry I'm late! I needed to check up on a few things before I could come here.

It's fine, it's fine. [She turns back to Marvelous.] So, how would you like to do this?

Nothin' fancy. Just show what you two have got. It's that simple.

"Well then, I suppose it's time to get started."

She takes out her W driver, taking it to her chest. The belt part wraps around her neck almost immediately.
