[The first competition for the newponies to get in on: the Hammer Toss. After a week of watching some of Equestria's most talented athletes, how will these outsiders measure up? Time to see. However things go, it's sure to be a show worth watching!]

Ladies and gentlecolts, please welcome to the field out competitors for the the Equestrian Game Hammer Toss event! Hailing from worlds far distant from our own: Adam Parks, Gwen Madder, Kyouko Sakura, and Dustin Brooks! Hailing from an Equestria different than our own: Jappleack! And from our very own world: Derpy Hooves, Rain Tosser, Swing High, and reigning champion of the Hammer Toss: Chuckle Hooves!

Competitors, please take your positions on the field and choose your first hammer!

[[OOC: This is the Hammer Toss event. All competitors will make their tosses at roughly the same time and the announcer will call out the distances/points once everyone has gone or once an RL day has passed. You're free to put your own spin on why a toss might have gone well or poorly when the announcer makes their call for the points. There will be three rounds, which will each have a top-level comment. The competitor with the greatest combined distance will win the gold. Spectators are free to shout encouragement or try to distract competitors.]]

[Fling those hammers, competitors! Cheer and shout, spectators! Time to get this show on the road!]

Derpy was one if the first... And she was terrified. Doing this in front of hundreds of ponies from all over the world? Not good towards one's self-esteem.

However, Derpy was willing to give it a shot. She made her way to the first hammer, grabbing it with her teeth, giving it a good spin before finally letting go.

"Heads uuuuuuup!" She called out, coming to a spinning stop.

[ She isn't sure who Chuckle Hooves is, but when she hears his name, she grins and sticks one Pocky stick in her mouth and one behind her ear. Whether or not she beats him, she's gonna give him a run for his money.

Kyouko steps up to the contesting area and hefts a hammer in her hooves. Other ponies are choosing their teeth, but Kyouko's practiced too long holding a spear with her hooves to change that now. She rears back and flings the hammer as far as she can. ]

[Mami watches intently, silently cheering Kyoko on. Saying anything out loud could break Kyoko's concentration. What sort of teacher/mentor would she be if she caused Kyoko to fail? ...What kind of FRIEND would she be? If she causes Kyoko to mess up, what they have now will end. They would once agaon be enemies. Mami doesn't want that.]

As the yellow earth pony, Dustin knew how to swing a hammer. In his case it was because that's his unique weapon as the Yellow Ninja Storm Ranger, though the only people here that knew that were Adam and Billy. So just as he concentrates on the throw and little else, he just hoped he doesn't mess it up. He pulled at the hammer with his hooves at launched it.

[Chuckle Hooves huh? Well, Jappleack was sure he was a Chuckle something.

It's funny. She feels like she should be doing a lot more grandstanding as she walks out; because hell, when is she going to do this again? But in the end she can't. Part of her is still reeling from the mental exhaustion of her "trip" last month. But part of her? Is kind of just happy to even be here.

Again, not like she'd get a chance back home.

When she finally gets to the hammer she stands up on her hind legs and picks the hammer up with her front legs. She spins for a moment, trying to gain momentum, before throwing the hammer. Chances are she'd get good distance on it.

Unfortunately, she wasn't paying enough attention to bother tryin to direct the hammer or aim it. So who knows where it's going to land, anyway.]

Competing in Pony Olympics was vastly different and there was a small part of him who was nervous. But Adam had to remind himself that it was just like another contest. All he could do was the best that he can. It also helped that he trained himself to hold his weapons in his hooves rather than his teeth.

He grabbed the hammer and stared straight ahead, using his body to spin and gain speed while staying in place. And then..he let it go, watching it fly.

[You're goin' down, Chuckle Hooves, and if Gwen isn't going to be the one to do it, well, someone else will. Let's do this.

She cracks her neck a bit before taking the hammer handle into her mouth. It's not something she was used to back home, but she's mastered that before she moved on to grabbing things with hooves, and there is no room for risk-taking here. Not when bragging rights and dethroning someone who looks like they're kind of a tool are at stake.

And then she throws. It's a fast one, and whatever it might lack in distance it makes up for in sheer intensity.

Hope no one's on the receiving end of that bad boy.]

Oh, now this is interesting, ladies and gentlecolts! I'm just getting it from the official measurements pony for the game, Inch N. Ell. Ms. Madder has the farthest toss for the first round at 64 meters. That's edging up toward the current Equestrian record set by Chuckle Hooves herself at the last Games: 68 meters! Following Ms. Madder, we have Ms. Derpy Hooves - no relation to Chuckle, I'm given to understand - at 61 meters. Good job, Ms. Hooves!

Chuckle Hooves is currently bringing in 3rd with 57 meters, then Mr. Park and Ms. Tosser at 55 and 52, respectively! Ms. Sakura, Mr. Brooks, and Mr. High are all trailing at 41, 37, and 36 meters.

And, ah... Ms. Jappleack, could you... please try to aim a little more carefully? Straight and true will get you distance! And the... the ponies in the front stands haven't signed any injury releases. That's 31 meters for Ms. Jappleack, though.

[Wow, that far?! Derpy couldn't believe it! That and knowing that Chuckle has no real connection to her outside of just name means she doesn't have to worry about embarrassing family!

With renewed determination, Derpy made her way to her hammer and, once again, spun it around before letting fly.]

Whoo-hoo! Look at it go! Yay me!

Wh- hey!! [ She knows it was farther than that. But arguing with the judges isn't going to get her any farther, she knows that. Muttering furiously, she picks the horseshoe up in her teeth this time and flings it. Fine. Might as well try a different way of throwing, then. ]

[Clearly what we need here is more motivation. Teddie runs into bleachers breathlessly, apparently missing the first round because he desperately needed to prepare himself for cheering on his friends. That meant putting together the most ridiculous outfit he possibly could.

No really.]

KYO-CHAAAAN! I BEARLIEVE IN YOU!

[ It's a lucky thing that Kyouko throws the hammer before she hears Teddie, because it startles her entirely out of her concentration. And the outfit's enough to keep her out if it. Because

Teddie. Teddie what.

With a glance to the other competitors to satisfy herself that she won't be needed immediately, she canters over to the stands to approach Teddie. ]

Where the buck'd ya get that?

[Yes, his breathtaking appearance has that effect on people.]

I made it myself!

[Do you love it?]

Heh.

[ It looks ridiculous, honestly. And it cheers Kyouko up a bit. ]

Ya'll make magical girl yet.

[He squishes his cheeks in utter glee. As ridiculous as he looks, it still makes him happy.]

I told ya I could! Just you wait! If you like this, then you're gonna LOVE what I have planned for the future. Now get back out there and win all the prizes!

Uh--

[ Planned - what - ]

Will all contestants re-take their places, please.

[ Throwing one last confused glance at Teddie, she gallops back to throw that hammer again. Hammer deserved it. ]

Dustin wasn't exactly trying to overshadow anyone but now that Adam was one of those who did better than him, it just gave him the urge to try much harder. This time however, he decided to try to use his teeth and glanced towards the rest of the of the participants momentarily before spinning the hammer around and then launching it.

[That throw wasn't bad. In all honesty, he was having fun with the tossing and was ready to let it loose again. Of course he wanted to see if he could go much further and better himself. So he took a deep breath, grabbed the hammer and performed again and let the hammer fly straight.]

[Aw hell. This isn't a great start. Hell, she's already last and she didn't manage to hit a spectator as a consultation prize. Alright. Alright that's cool. She'll just have to kick it up a notch.

She spits on her hooves and rubs them together before picking up the second hammer and giving it another throw.

And under her breath she threatens the hammer. Dumb hammer. It better fly farther if it knows what's good for it.]

[Okay, so far, so good. Better keep it up!

She gets herself off to a bit of a slower start this time to recover energy from the last throw. Before long, though, she's letting it rip yet again.]

There we go, Ms. Jappleack! And Rain Tosser is doing well, too! 60 meters for each of them. Ms. Kyouko and Ms. Derpy Hooves are also showing themselves in fine form. Ms. Gwen and Swing High look to be having more trouble than last time. Hang in there, competitors! Chuckle Hooves, Mr. Brooks, and Mr. Park are all in a dead heat just in front of them.

[ Calmed a little by Teddie's appearance (somehow, despite the costume), and by her own progress, Kyouko takes her time to really center herself this time. Apparently, unfamiliar with the technique as she was, the mouth-throwing worked. Kyouko takes a few deep breaths, with her eye on the target, before letting the hammer fly. ]

[Derpy's in something of a panic. She's doing well, but Rain Tosser's only a point behind her! She has to do her best here! Once more, she goes for the hammer and gives it another mighty swing! She's gotten this far, hasn't she?]

Despite the pressure to at least tie with Adam, Dustin was excited and pumped up to do his very best. So seeing as he did better with his hooves than teeth, he gave a glance towards the field and gave it the hardest throw he could do.

[Alright, now we're talking. Jappleack tries to tell herself that it doesn't matter if she wins or loses, it's all fun to just be here. She tries to tell herself it won't matter even if she comes in dead last. And in the long run, it wouldn't but damn would she be sore about it for a day or two.

She just needs to try and avoid dead last. Hell, maybe even if she does get dead last, if she gives this a good enough throw, she'll be satisfied.

She takes a deep breath. She closes her eyes. And Jappleack dives in to herself. It's like reaching for the void for a moment, but not really. She's more just reaching for her inner peace.

And when she finds it, she walks up to the hammer, takes it, and flings that sucker just as hard as she can.]

[Still in fourth place but to be honest, he didn't care what he placed. Adam was still glad to be able to show his strength. But still, it didn't mean he was going to slow down. Placing his hooves on the hammer, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It was almost like meditating as he let the crowd's noise drown it and focused every fiber of his being.

His eyes snapped open and with every ounce of strength he had, he picked up that damn hammer and threw it as hard as he could muster.]

[Okay. Things aren't quite as spectacular as they were last time, but hey.

At least Chuckle Hooves has their lead taken from them, right?

She puts all her energy into this last toss, sending it flying across the field. Once again, you're probably not going to want to be on the receiving end of that thing, because it's fierce and fast enough to kill a pony.]

Ho- wha- Wow! Ladies and gentlecolts, I think... I think we may have a new Equestrian record. The judges are checking now, but if I'm not very much mistaken, Dustin Brooks has just broken Chuckle Hooves' famous 68 meter toss. I'm getting word now. Yes. Yes, he has! Oh, my! And Ms. Sakura has almost matched it at 67 meters. Swing High also seems to have made a phenomenal last toss at 65 meters.

But the important part. The most important: Ms. Kyouko Sakura has won the Hammer Toss at 164 points! Ms. Tosser comes in 2nd at 163 points after a consistently excellent performance. And Mr. Brooks will be taking home bronze for his own efforts along with the title of Equestria's Hammer Toss Record Holder!

[And now it's Cadence's turn.]

Competitors - friends - you've all shown us magnificent spirits and skill with your tosses. Thank you for participating and making the inclusion of newponies in these games all the more fantastic.

[Her horn glows and laurel wreaths appear around everypony's necks along with medals for the winners.] Let's cheer and shout for our Hammer Toss participants!

[ Despite her renewed confidence, Kyouko is still a little surprised at her flat-out win. The medal appearing around her neck thus produces a particularly wide grin.

She looks out at the ponies and griffons and such (most of whom she doesn't know) and spreads her wings to look even more impressive. Her eyes scan for a white bear in a cheerleader's outfit, as well. ]

[Hey. Hey, Kyoko. Guess who else is cheering you on for winning gold?]

[ She does finally notice Mami in the crowd as well. Kyouko makes her way over. ]

Aren't ya in the next event?

[Mami curtsies for her student.]

Hello to you, too, Sakura-san. That was quite a wonderful performance!

Yes, I believe I'm in the next event.

It was okay. [ She nods in return. That Mami can execute a curtsy even as a pony is a little impressive. ]

Thought ya might be gettin' ready or somethin'. [ I didn't expect to see you here. ]

[Of course she's here. Why would she miss her maybe friend competing in a memorable event? And don't you dare pull that 'it was okay' crap on Mami. She will hand you a piece of paper with an A+ on it.]

Yes, I suppose I should be getting ready for that soon.

[ This is the most useless piece of paper Kyouko has ever received.

It is a nice gesture, though.

She stuffs it into her hoodie's pocket. ] Ya've got a bar to reach now, an' it's high. Think ya can do it?

I don't know. I've never really fired off a bow before.

[If this was a lighthearted anime, this would be where everyone falls down.]

[ Kyouko finds some food in her pocket while she's at it -- a half-eaten bar of fudge -- and munches on it. ] Can't be that hard. S' pretty close ta what yer used to.

[Mami nods.]

That's what I figured. Guns and Archery isn't too far off in my book. I think I should do pretty decent.

[Even without her magic, she still has a lot of experience firing off a gun.]
