Well, the day was set. Tom Shanks threw the proverbial gauntlet, and the time the ponies had left to live on the commune were numbered.

Or were they?

The commune was an important place for the off-worlders since their arrival. It was one of the first places established by the off-worlders. And there were few ponies who would allow for Tom Shanks to take it from them. It was time to fight back...by raising the money needed to save the commune!

~~Too bad there wasn't a worldwide race being announced with a 1.5 million bit prize pot. Or a dance off. Or a contest of any kind for another month. But everypony would surely find a way to pitch in!~~

So, everypony, what will you do? You'd better figure it out - the clock is ticking.

The Second Annual Running of the Leaves

( You take it on the run, baby! )

[OOC: There will be three parts to this log and it will carry on throughout the week. The opening thread will be at the start of the race and will give racers, spectators, and announcers the chance to just mingle. The second thread will be for the race itself. As mentioned, the race will take place in ten legs with the final leg order being the winners. Spike and Pinkie Pie (AU1) will announce those who have signed up, but other racers are welcome to participate if they can jump in at the beginning. A sub-thread will be posted for each leg giving the order of racers. Racers may then respond to that with reasoning behind their jockeying positions. We'll do two legs each day until the finish. You may respond at will to these! The final thread in the log will open once the winners reach the finish line and will be for handing out prizes and further mingling after a race well run. Please direct all further questions to the OOC sign-up thread or to the mods directly. As a heads up, this will be a standard RotL, no other plot shall be intruding.]

[[OOC: This is the Ping Pong event. All competitors will hit back and forth until one of them misses or hits out of bounds. Misses/out of bounds hits will be determined by RNG. Once both competitors reply to a round within the appropriate stage, the mods will a comment letting them know who should miss/hit out for that round. The players can then play this out as they would like. There will be three rounds, and the opponent who misses once or less (i.e. scores 2 or more points) will move on to the next stage with a new match-up. Each stage will have a top-level comment with competitors having a sub-comment. To keep the flow of things, there will not be separate comments for the different rounds. The mods will just tag in to let you know who should miss once both players have tagged. You may tag more than once before the mods let you know who should miss/hit out of bounds, though, if you would like your ping pong battle to be truly epic. If a competitor does not reply at least once per day, they will be assumed to miss and the other competitor will receive a point.
